Uses of Loestrin:-
Loestrin fe 1.5/30 Birth Control Pill is an estrogen and progestin combination used to prevent pregnancy. It may also be used to regulate the menstrual cycle, treat symptoms of menopause, or treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Loestrin is a low dose birth control pill created specifically for women in their forties.
How Loestrin Works:-
Loestrin Works by suppressing or stopping ovulation to prevent pregnancy, in perimenopause it is effective in regulating the hormonal highs and lows of ovulation and perimenopause. It decreases and even eliminates many of the bothersome symptoms of perimenopause such as : sleeping troubles, mood swings and irritability, hot flashes to name a few.
Loestrin & Sexual Pleasure:-
Loestrin also works to keep the vaginal area moist and receptive thereby preventing loss of sexual drive and pleasure.
Monophasic birth control pills :-
This means that Loestrin pill you take for 21 days contains the same amount of estrogen and progesterone.
Suppression Therapy :-
A woman taking a birth control pill like Loestrin is not adding estrogen to her body, but turning off her natural supply and adding a measured healthy amount. She will probably have less estrogen in her body than if she let nature take its course.
Loestrin & Smoking:-
Smoking cigarettes while using this medicine increases your chance of having heart problems. Do not smoke while using this medicine. The risk of heart problems increases with in women greater than 35 years of age and with smoking 15 or more cigarettes per day. Some medicines or medical conditions may intereas with this medicine.
Loestrin with Pregnancy & Breast Feeding:- Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of cancer, heart or liver conditions, pulmonary embolism, blood clots, stroke, cerebrovascular disease, or smoking.
